IANA Congratulates President Biden and Vice President Harris on Their Win!

Today, January 20th, 2021 is a historic day for this nation; it is the inauguration of America's 46th president. It is a day that symbolizes growth, progression, and change. IANA congratulates President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris on a successful inauguration and hopes to see this country steer toward healing and tolerance. We are celebrating democracy and unity. As President Biden said in his speech today, "A day of history and hope of renewal and resolve through a crucible for the ages." The amount of effort put into pushing for a large voting turnout has paid off today. Challenges are there to be used as a tool for growth. It is often not overcoming the challenge of value but the skills, grit, and bonds made along the way. We hope to see this as a stepping stone to a bright, hopeful future. We hope that we utilize our strengths and celebrate our differences to build a stronger bond of unity. Vice President Harris is the first female, Black, Asian American vice president in this country, and we hope that that not only inclusion but understanding and celebration. There is excellent, hard work to be done, but it will be done through justice and dedication to progression. President Biden has already begun the work by proclaiming that he will sign at least a dozen executive orders. Of these orders, he plans to revoke the "Muslim Ban," which banned many people from predominately Muslim countries from entering the country. The President's move to revoke this ban is vital to Muslims and all those who believe in injustice.

Biden will also try to pause on interest and principal payments for loans until the end of September. If the Department of Education agrees, this will be great news for all the students paying for federal student loans. Biden is also working on an order that is named "100 Days Masking Challenge" that will enforce masks and physical, social distancing in all federal buildings by all federal employees. He has also promised to send out 100 million COVID-19 vaccinations during this period. Alongside this, Biden is pushing for $400 billion to be used for the vaccines, fighting coronavirus, and reopening schools. These are all essential steps to moving forward restoring this country, but these are just the beginning. We hope the administration always works with value and the nation's best interest at heart.
