Curfew Tonight April 13th, 2021

Tonight, Monday, April 13th, there is a curfew set in place for those that live in Hennepin, Ramsey, and Anoka counties. This curfew will be placed from 7 pm tonight to 6am tomorrow morning. This new curfew comes from the civil unrest following the shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright by a Brooklyn Park police officer. The officer has been placed under administrative leave. We express our deepest sympathy to the family. 

As you know, tonight is the first night of Taraweeh beginning the holy month of Ramadan. Praying Taraweeh, going to and from the mosques is allowed due to the exemption of religious services. Loitering will be considered breaking the curfew so we urge the community to be cautious and stay safe during Taraweeh tonight. Please do not stay outside for more than coming to and from the mosque in order to secure the safety of everyone.
