COVID-19 IANA UPDATE 10/28/2020:
The Islamic Association of America (IANA) partnered with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to provide education on COVID-19 during and after Ramadan to the IANA network of Minnesota mosques. Our goal is to provide guidance through every step of the process from recognizing the first onset of symptoms to testing and quarantining. This pandemic has changed our lives drastically, which is why we will do everything in our power to provide our communities with the necessities to stay safe and healthy.
This month, IANA has hired a number of people to help support and distribute resources to the community. During this difficult time, IANA provides the community with hotline specialists that answer COVID-related questions and provide resources over the phone. The goals of our hotline specialists are to educate our communities about symptoms, COVID-19 testing sites, and encourage our communities to take serious precautions with social distancing and testing. Our hotline specialist will direct you to a test site where you’ll receive special care from one of IANA’s test site specialists. They will translate the material and provide you with aid in both the Somali, English, and Arabic language.
Islamic Association of North America (IANA) was founded in the year of 2001 to meet the religious and social needs of Muslim societies in North America. As a response to the changing realities of Muslim communities, IANA re-positions itself to effectively reach diverse Muslim communities across the country. We are an umbrella organization with over thirty-five centers and organizations nationwide.
